We create a space for young people to encounter the love of God and share it with others in the power of the Holy Spirit. We know who we are in the Father’s eyes and enjoy belonging in a family of worshippers.

FireStarters Wales is led by Janette Goringe with an amazing core team, plus around 20 volunteers from different churches and denominations in South Wales.

01. Is FireStarters Wales associated with any church or denomination?

Firestarters Wales is an independent youth organsation. Both the leaders and the Youth come from a variety of churches and denominations across South Wales.

02. Does FireStarters Wales have a statement of faith?

03. Does FireStarters have a safeguarding policy?

Absolutely! At FireStarters, the safety and well-being of children and young people is at the heart of everything we do. We ensure that every step of our process, from recruitment to event planning, reflects our commitment to creating a secure and supportive environment. We work diligently to protect those in our care and provide thoughtful, compassionate responses when needed. For our full policy see the safeguarding policy page

04. Is FireStarters a registered charity?

Yes! Our charity number is 1175278. We have a board of trustees keep the core team accountable to the values and vision of FireStarters.

05. Does it cost anything to attend FireStarters?

Yes. We charge a small cost per child per gathering. This is to cover venue costs, ongoing costs, administration and resources during the day. This cost doesn’t go towards any salaries as all leaders are volunteers. 

06. Is FireStarters Wales connected to FireStarters UK in Scotland?

Yes we are. FireStarters was birthed in Scotland over 27 years ago and we are like a sister ministry seeing FireStarters established here in Wales. We have the same core values and mission statement as each other and an agreement to keep to these values whilst existing separately with a different leadership team, under our board of trustees as a separate charity.
